Manipur CM N Biren Singh Urges Support for BJP to Safeguard State’s Unity

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has made a fervent appeal to the people of Manipur, emphasizing the crucial need to maintain the state’s “territorial integrity” by voting for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Singh underscored the importance of preventing any attempts to disrupt Manipur’s demographic balance, referring to past challenges posed by external influences.

Singh echoed the sentiments expressed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the preservation of Manipur’s unity and identity. He highlighted the decisive actions taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government to address these concerns, such as the removal of the Free Movement Regime (FMR) and the initiation of fencing measures.

Expressing confidence in the ongoing efforts by the Central Government, Singh urged the electorate to support the BJP candidates, emphasizing that their vote is crucial for the continuation and completion of the measures aimed at safeguarding Manipur’s interests.

Earlier, during his rally in Imphal, Union Home Minister Amit Shah reiterated the government’s commitment to maintaining peace and unity in Manipur, vowing to prevent any attempts at division. Shah also criticized the divisive politics of the Congress, accusing them of not only fragmenting the nation but also attempting to create divisions within India itself.

As the nation gears up for the 2024 general elections, Manipur’s role in shaping the country’s future remains significant. With voting in Manipur scheduled for April 19 and April 26, the stakes are high as voters prepare to cast their ballots in defense of their state’s unity and integrity.
